Furniture Movers in Sharjah
One sofa or a whole flat. Dismantling, wrapping, transport and reassembly by our own crew, with the lift and building access planned before the truck is loaded.
Get a free quoteMost furniture jobs in Sharjah are not house moves. Someone has bought a wardrobe and needs it carried up and built. A sofa is going to a relative’s flat two streets away. A bed has to come apart because it will not fit back through the door it came in through. Separately, yes, some people are moving a whole home.
We do both ends of that range. One item or forty, the work is the same three things: get it apart safely, get it there without marking it, and put it back together so it is usable the same day.
Alsatee Movers is based in Sharjah and has been moving furniture across the emirate since 2020, with our own crew and our own trucks.
Single items, part loads and full homes
A single item. A sofa, a bed, a wardrobe, a fridge, a dining table. These are the jobs most movers quote badly, because they price them like a small house move. We send the crew and the vehicle the item actually needs, not a full team.
A few pieces. Moving out of a shared flat, taking your own furniture to a new place, or splitting a household. Usually half a day with two or three people.
A full home. Every room, packed and dismantled, with the building access handled. That is a house move and we plan it as one. See movers in Sharjah.
New furniture collection and assembly. You have bought from a showroom or online and it needs collecting, carrying up and building. That is its own job, with no move attached.
If you are not sure which of these you have, send us the item list and the two addresses. That is enough for us to tell you.
What furniture we move
- Sofas, armchairs and corner units
- Beds, mattresses and headboards
- Wardrobes, including fitted and sliding-door units
- Dining tables and chairs
- Desks, office chairs and storage units
- TV units, mirrors, artwork and glass tops
- Dressing tables and display cabinets
- White goods, including fridges, washing machines and dishwashers
- Pianos and other heavy single items
- Garden and balcony furniture
- Shop and showroom display pieces
Dismantling and reassembly
This is most of the skill in furniture moving, and it is where the damage happens when it is skipped.
Beds, wardrobes, dining tables, modular sofas and office furniture come apart where they need to. We photograph complex pieces before dismantling, bag the fittings and tape the bag to the piece it belongs to, and reassemble at the other end in the room the furniture is going to live in, not in the hallway for you to shift later.
Two honest limits:
Fitted and built-in wardrobes. Some come off the wall and go back on it; some were built in place and will not survive removal. We will tell you which yours is when we see it, rather than finding out halfway through.
Flat-pack that has already been built once. Particleboard fixings loosen the second time. We will say when we think a piece is at that stage instead of discovering it on your floor.
Sliding doors, glass, marble and mirrors
A handful of items account for most furniture damage, and they are the ones that look fine right up until they are not.
Sliding wardrobe doors come off before the carcass moves. They are the single most commonly damaged part of a wardrobe, because they look like they will be fine and they are usually mirrored on one side.
Glass table tops and shelves travel separately from their frames, on edge rather than flat, with corner protection. Flat is how glass cracks, because a knock in the middle of an unsupported pane does it.
Marble and stone tops are heavier than they look and crack along the grain under their own weight if carried wrong. They come off the base and travel upright.
Mirrors, dressing tables and framed artwork are wrapped individually and carried separately, never stacked against soft furniture.
Display cabinets get emptied and the glass shelves come out before the cabinet is lifted. A cabinet carried with its shelves in is a cabinet full of loose glass.
Tell us at the quote stage which of these you have. It changes the materials we bring, not usually the price.
Mattresses and white goods
These two get skipped by almost everyone and they cause the most avoidable complaints.
Mattresses go into a mattress bag before they leave the room, not after. An unbagged mattress picks up dirt from every surface it touches on the way down, and a king mattress is awkward enough that it will touch plenty. Memory foam should travel flat rather than folded where there is room for it, because folding it hard can damage the core.
Washing machines need their transit bolts fitted if you still have them, and the drum secured if you do not. The hoses get drained first, because a machine that has not been drained leaks into the truck and onto whatever is next to it.
Fridges and freezers travel upright. Where a fridge has had to be laid down, it needs to stand for a few hours before being switched on so the compressor oil settles. We will tell you how long on the day rather than leaving you to guess.
Dishwashers and ovens get disconnected, drained and the doors secured.
We disconnect and reconnect where it is a plug and a tap. Anything needing a plumber or an electrician is not our trade, and we will say so rather than improvising.
The building decides the day in Sharjah
Sharjah is not one kind of building, and which one you are in changes a furniture move more than the distance does.
Older low-rise blocks. Common across the central districts. Some have a lift, some have stairs only. Where it is stairs, large items either come apart or go down on their side with a bigger crew, and that gets decided at the survey, not on the landing.
Mid-rise buildings with one lift. The most common stock in Sharjah. One lift shared with every other resident means large items get measured against the lift door before the truck is loaded, and the job is planned around the lift rather than around the load.
Towers with a service lift. Along the lagoon and the Corniche. The service lift is usually bookable and the slot becomes the schedule, so if it is taken, the move moves.
Villas and townhouses. Fewest access problems, biggest loads, and usually garden furniture and appliances an apartment move does not have. For a whole-villa move rather than individual pieces, see villa movers in Sharjah.
Tell us the building and the floor and we will plan the right one.
Where the truck stands, and the lift
Two things we settle before a date is fixed.
The loading point. Covered parking, a basement bay, a service lane or the street. Where it is a basement, there is a height bar and a larger truck will not clear it. That decides the vehicle we bring, and occasionally it means two smaller loads instead of one.
The lift. Where your building books or reserves one, we arrange it as part of the booking wherever management allows. Where only the resident can book it, we tell you early and tell you the window we need. Lift, corridor and lobby protection goes on before anything moves, which matters in buildings that hold a deposit against common-area damage.
Collecting new furniture
A good share of what we carry has never been in your home yet.
We collect from showrooms, warehouses and online sellers across the emirate and in Dubai, including the big furniture retailers and the second-hand pieces people buy through listings sites, carry it up, unpack it, build it and take the packaging away with us.
That is useful when a store delivers to the lobby only, when the delivery slot does not suit you, when the item needs building and the store does not do it, or when you have bought privately and there is no delivery at all.
Tell us the shop or the seller, the item and your floor. If it is flat-pack, say so, because assembly time is the part people underestimate.
Getting rid of old furniture in Sharjah
This is the question people ask alongside a furniture move, and almost no mover answers it. Here is the honest version.
Bulky waste collection. BEEAH Tandeef runs a bulky waste service called You Call, We Haul, which covers exactly this kind of item. Their own description is “unwanted items that are too large or heavy to be easily disposed of in a waste collection bin, such as discarded furniture, large appliances and more”. Residents of Sharjah can schedule a pickup through the BEEAH mobile app or by calling the toll-free number 800 YCWH (9294). Check any charge with them directly, because that is theirs to quote, not ours.
Donation and resale. Furniture in usable condition is worth more to someone else than to a skip. Charities and second-hand groups take decent pieces, and listings sites move them quickly if you are not in a rush.
Private junk removal. Several companies in Sharjah do paid junk clearance and will take items in any condition.
What we do. We move furniture; we are not a disposal company. Where old pieces can be removed as part of a job we are already doing, we will say so when we quote. Where they cannot, we will tell you that rather than loading them and working it out on the day. Either way, deciding what is not going is the cheapest part of any move, because the cheapest furniture to move is the piece you leave behind.
Storing furniture between two tenancy dates
Sharjah tenancy dates rarely line up neatly, and a few days of gap is common. Furniture does not have to sit in a corridor or go back to the old flat.
We hold it in secure storage for a few days or for months, and the same crew that packed it delivers and rebuilds it when your new place is ready. It is booked as one job rather than two moves, and anything going into storage gets wrapped for storage rather than just covered for transport, which are not the same thing.
Moving furniture between Sharjah and Dubai
The Sharjah to Dubai run is one of the most common furniture jobs we handle, in both directions, and it is almost always the timing that decides how the day goes rather than the distance.
Al Ittihad Road carries heavy commuter traffic morning and evening. A load that leaves Sharjah late sits in it. Loading early and crossing before the peak is usually the difference between a straightforward job and an awkward one.
One thing people do not expect: Dubai communities require their own move permit before a truck is allowed in, even for a single wardrobe. That is separate from anything your Sharjah building asks for. We cover how it works on our movers in Dubai page and check your destination building when we quote.
What decides the cost
We do not publish a rate for furniture moving, and it is worth saying why rather than just saying it. A single sofa on the ground floor and the same sofa on the ninth floor of a building with one shared lift are not the same job. The item is identical and the work is not. A published number would be wrong for most of the people reading it, and we would rather quote the job properly than advertise a figure and revise it on the day.
What actually moves the number:
- How many pieces and how big they are
- Dismantling and reassembly, and how many items need taking apart
- Floor and lift, including whether a service lift exists and has to be booked
- Stairs, where items have to be carried rather than taken up
- Carry distance from the lift to wherever the truck can legally stand
- Access at both ends, because a ground-floor villa and a ninth-floor flat are different jobs
- Wrapping and materials, and how much protection the pieces need
- Building rules, because a booked window or restricted hours changes the crew size
- Distance, within Sharjah or across to Dubai or another emirate
- Timing, because month-end and weekends are busiest
- Storage, if anything needs holding between two dates
Send us the item list, the two addresses and the floors, and you get a real figure instead of a range that moves on the day.
Before the crew arrives
Nothing here is essential, but each one makes the day shorter:
- Empty the drawers and wardrobes. Furniture is moved empty. Full drawers add weight, shift in transit and make a wardrobe too heavy to carry safely.
- Clear the route through the hallway, the landing and the lift lobby.
- Decide what is not going, and whether it needs collecting or disposing of.
- Measure the new doorway if you already know something is tight. Tell us the number and we will plan for it.
- Book the lift at both ends if your buildings require it, and tell us the window.
- Keep the fittings for any flat-pack piece, because spare bolts and allen keys save time.
- Have someone at the other end who can say where each piece goes. Guessing means moving things twice.
- Sort your SEWA clearance if this is a full move rather than a single item. Your next SEWA account needs the last clearance certificate from the old property, which is a listed requirement on the UAE Government portal, so start it before moving week rather than after.

Furniture moving questions
Will you move just one item?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. One sofa, one wardrobe, one fridge. We size the crew and the vehicle to the item instead of sending a full moving team.
How much does it cost to move furniture in Sharjah?
We quote per job rather than publishing a rate, because the same item is a different job on the ground floor and on the ninth floor of a building with one shared lift. Send the item list, both addresses and the floors and you get a real figure. The section above lists everything that moves the number, so you can see what you are being quoted on.
How do I get rid of old furniture in Sharjah?
BEEAH Tandeef runs a bulky waste pickup called You Call, We Haul for exactly this, bookable through the BEEAH app or on 800 YCWH (9294). Usable pieces are worth donating or listing instead. We are movers rather than a disposal company, but where old items can go as part of a job we are already doing, we will tell you at the quote.
Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
Yes, and it is part of the job rather than a surprise charge. Fittings are bagged and taped to the piece, and we rebuild in the room the furniture is going to live in.
My wardrobe will not fit in the lift. What happens?
It comes apart on the floor it is leaving and goes back together upstairs. We measure against the lift door before the truck is loaded, so this is settled in advance rather than on the landing.
Can you move a mattress on its own?
Yes. It goes into a mattress bag in the room before it is carried, which is the part people skip and then regret.
Do you move fridges and washing machines?
Yes. Washing machines get drained and the drum secured; fridges travel upright, and where one has had to be laid down it needs to stand before being switched on. We disconnect and reconnect where it is a plug and a tap. Anything needing a plumber or electrician is not our trade and we will say so.
Can you collect furniture I have just bought?
Yes, from showrooms, warehouses and private sellers. We carry it up, build it and take the packaging away.
Do you move furniture in buildings with no lift?
Yes, with a bigger crew and more dismantling. The important part is knowing in advance, because a stairs-only building changes the crew size and the time, and we would rather price that properly than send too few people.
Can you store my furniture between tenancy dates?
Yes, short or long term, with the same crew delivering and reassembling at the end. Tell us at the quote stage, because furniture going into storage is wrapped differently from furniture going straight into a flat.
Do you move furniture from Sharjah to Dubai?
Regularly, in both directions. Timing matters more than distance, so we load early and make the run before Al Ittihad Road fills. Note that Dubai communities need their own move permit even for a single item.
How far ahead should I book?
A few days is often workable for one or two items. For a full flat, or anything at month-end, give yourself more room, because month-end is the busiest period across the emirate.
